How to Choose the Right Aluminum Window Series: 65, 70, 75, 80, 85

When importers and contractors ask us which aluminum window series to order, the answer depends on one question: what is the project environment?

The series number—65, 70, 75, 80, 85—refers to the profile width in millimeters. A wider profile means more aluminum, higher structural strength, and better performance under wind load and thermal stress. But wider is not always better. The right choice balances performance, cost, and the actual conditions of the installation site.

Here is a practical breakdown of each series and where it fits.

65 Series — Standard Residential and Light Commercial

The 65 series is our entry-level thermal break system. It is suitable for low-rise residential buildings and light commercial spaces in moderate wind zones.

Typical applications:

  • Apartments and houses in inland areas

  • Small offices and retail interiors

  • Projects with standard window sizes (up to 1.5m × 1.5m per panel)

If your project is in a city center with surrounding buildings blocking direct wind, and the window sizes are standard, the 65 series offers the best cost-performance ratio.

70 Series — Enhanced Residential and Coastal Low-Rise

The 70 series adds profile width and wall thickness compared to 65. This makes it suitable for coastal areas with moderate salt spray and low-rise buildings in open terrain.

Typical applications:

  • Coastal residential projects in Malaysia, Vietnam, and the Philippines

  • Buildings 3–6 stories with moderate wind exposure

  • Projects requiring double glazing as standard

The 70 series is our most balanced option for Southeast Asian coastal markets. It handles humidity and salt spray better than 65, without the cost jump of 75 and above.

75 Series — High-Wind Regions and Mid-Rise Projects

The 75 series is designed for high-wind regions and mid-rise buildings. The reinforced frame structure improves resistance to wind pressure and structural deflection.

Typical applications:

  • Coastal high-wind zones (typhoon-prone areas in Vietnam, Philippines, and South Asia)

  • Buildings 7–15 stories

  • Projects with larger window openings (up to 2.0m × 1.8m per panel)

If your target market has wind load requirements above 3,000Pa, the 75 series is the minimum starting point. It is also the first series where we recommend reinforced mullions as standard.

80 Series — Commercial Facades and Large Openings

The 80 series is a commercial-grade system for large openings and facade applications. The wider profile supports heavier glass configurations and larger panel sizes.

Typical applications:

  • Commercial buildings and office facades

  • Hotel and retail projects with floor-to-ceiling windows

  • Openings up to 2.5m × 2.2m per panel

For projects specifying laminated or triple glazing, the 80 series provides the structural depth needed to carry the additional glass weight without compromising operation.

85 Series — Premium Engineering Projects

The 85 series is our top-tier system for demanding engineering projects. Maximum profile width, highest aluminum content, and the strongest structural performance in our range.

Typical applications:

  • High-rise buildings and landmark commercial projects

  • Extreme wind load regions (coastal South Asia, exposed highland sites)

  • Projects requiring custom engineering and structural calculations

The 85 series is not a default choice. It is specified when the project demands it—when wind load, glass weight, or opening size exceeds what 80 series can safely handle.

What to Send Us for a Quote

To recommend the right series for your project, we need:

  • Project location and building height

  • Window sizes (width × height per panel)

  • Glass configuration (single, double, triple, Low-E, laminated)

  • Target wind load or local standard requirement (if known)

  • Quantity per series

Send these details via WhatsApp or email, and we will confirm the recommended series, profile drawing, and FOB quotation within 5–7 working days.
